Subtitle: “The circumstances in our lives are pieces of a larger scheme of the puzzle of life, and in His Perfect Wisdom, the pieces fit.”

A must read, inspiring work with answers provided through God’s Divine Grace.

Perfect Wisdom

This short, though very heart-warming story of faith and optimism in the midst of illness and dying leads one to have hope in the most hopeless of situations. The story tells of the journey of James Turner, husband and father of four daughters, and their passage through the brutal illness of malignant cancer. Yet also, through their spiritual world of religion and compassion, the children and friends of James Turner seek to alleviate the pain of their loss.

This very personal offering of hope and caring is a first-hand account of the grief experienced in losing a loved one. Ms. Jones’ well written and religiously inspiring words and concern for others going through these difficulties shines through in a touching, deeply moving narrative of faith and love.

This reader/reviewer felt extremely touched by Ms. Jones’ words, and would also highly recommend this book be placed as a resource material at oncology clinics around the country. Common, universal feelings, thoughts and heartache are well expressed, and this work is non-denominational in nature, from which all Christians can glean comfort during a most trying situation that we all face in our daily lives. Truly inspirational!

Perfect Wisdom - Renae Jones - PublishAmerica - ISBN 1-4137-0130-2 - 94 pages

Perfect Wisdom by Renae Jones is not a large book; however, every page is filled with a spiritual abundance of faith and love. The author tells the story of her father's battle with terminal cancer, while giving us a visual image of his life. When James Turner was diagnosed with this devastating health problem, he made his family understand that he was either going to live...or he was going to LIVE. But, whether it would be on earth or in heaven, he didn't know. He would either be given a longer stay on earth or would be going to eternal life and into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Family and friends prayed with him, asking and believing for a miracle.

Most children, regardless of their ages, find it very difficult to accept the loss of their parents. My mother died at a young age, but my father lived until he was 94. One loss did not hurt any less than the other. And yet, my loss, as well as the one Renae suffered, was heaven's gain. The author's father left her a wonderful legacy of faith to pass on to her children.

Renae is one of four daughters who grew up in a busy, happy household with caring parents who taught them about God's love by what they said and what they did. She describes her father as a man who inspired faith, as he boldly walked toward death with passion and purpose.

Earlier, when Renae Jones heard God tell her, through the Holy Spirit, that her father was going to die, it was an extraordinary experience. She felt totally loved by God and knew that what she heard was revealed to her in keeping with His perfect wisdom. Later, she would realize that the preparation for the loss of her father had begun two years in advance of his death. Though she tried to push the words she had heard about her father's impending death into the far corners of her mind, they would surface in her thoughts as she went about her everyday life. She treasured the time with her parents and when her father appeared to be well, she was grateful and relieved. And yet, she had been given a revelation...

This book is both inspirational and inspired. The section on Divine Grace will leave no doubt in your mind that the author was led by the Holy Spirit in the writing of this book. Read it with an open mind, allowing God to minister to you as He did this close family.

As I read the pages of Perfect Wisdom, I felt as if I were witnessing the pieces of a heavenly puzzle being put into place. Renae found a job that took her back home where she could live near her parents and siblings. Because she did administrative work in a hospital, she would be close to her father during his final hours on earth. In addition to the glorious spiritual wonders that are described in the book through the author's eyes, and also experienced by other members of her family, there were happenings that some might label as coincidences, but I prefer to call them "God incidents."

Though the author relates sad moments that will definately bring tears to the eyes of readers, Perfect Wisdom also portrays the happiness and closeness of a family. Whether everyone is gathered at the table to enjoy a fabulous home cooked meal, celebrating a special holiday, or simply enjoying the company of one another, readers will not see themselves as intruders. They will be comfortable with this family. The four sisters spend a lot of time together and jokingly refer to themselves as the "Sisterhood." This is one reason the author was so happy when God provided a way for her to move back home.

As this family goes through the long, painful process of seeing their loved one die a slow death, readers will feel their pain, say "Amen" to their prayers, and be so very proud of the way they supported one another. They will grieve and rejoice with them because of the father's ultimate victory over death. I am not going to go into detail regarding the various heavenly visions that are revealed throughout the pages of this book since, only the author, with the wisdom of God guiding her thoughts, could possibly have conveyed these experiences in such a spiritually-gifted way.

It is my recommendation and hope that you purchase Perfect Wisdom as soon as possible. It will strengthen you in your Christian walk and help those who are going through a difficult time...perhaps those losing a loved one to death or, better stated, to eternal life.
